Free Construction Invoice Template Excel Workbook

What’s included

• Invoice header: your company line, Bill To, invoice number, invoice and due dates, payment terms, project, PO or contract number and billing period.
• 20 line items: description, quantity, unit, unit price, an amount that calculates, and a reference column for CO numbers, tickets or SOV lines.
• Totals: subtotal, sales tax (enter a rate only if tax applies), invoice total, retainage held and amount due, all calculated.
• Remit-to & notes: payment instructions and a notes box, for example “lien waiver attached.”
• Start Here tab: step-by-step instructions and a color key: yellow is where you type, gray calculates.
• Print-ready: set to print on one page, so you can save it as a PDF and send it.

How to use this template

1. Type your company name, address, phone and email in the line under INVOICE.
2. Fill in Bill To, the invoice number and dates, terms, project and PO number.
3. Add a line for each item: contract work, approved change orders (with the CO number) or extra work (with the ticket number).
4. Enter the sales tax rate only if tax applies, and the retainage rate your contract calls for.
5. Check the amount due, then save it as a PDF and send it.
6. If your customer requires a specific pay application form, use their form. This invoice doesn’t replace it.
